Signal and Noise

TL;DR:  [TV Party]

Couple things -

First, I share a name with an older cousin -- the metal sculptor John Richen -- a professional artist of note. It needs to be clear that my hobbyist site is in no way related to any of his work.  This is me, same name, different guy whose motivation in these pursuits is to maintain some semblance of internal creative structure.

Second, the denser, more detailed images appearing on this site will display far better when viewed on a desktop/tablet screen as opposed to your phone.

Quick Notes -

What:  "Pixē Fort" is an assortment of graphic art experiments in a collected format online. If you want a quick glimpse of these graphics TV Party is a cross-sampled slide carousel. Visit TV Party and let the carousel run. Elsewhere, pictures are organized into chronological collections which include identifying titles. The main gallery, 'Pantheon' focuses on the latest work. 'Photos 16:9' is just a small gallery of photographs presented in cinematic aspect ratio.

How (Process):
Most of these graphics start out as mixed-media* paintings, collages or drawings on mediums of heavy paper, board, wood or canvas. These are then scanned/converted into high-resolution image files and retooled, blended, combined or otherwise demolished and re-generated as artifacts of modern digital collage. Some of these images have altered course through multiple reboots over the span of many years. All here are images created by human hands via tools controlled by a human mind.

Sales: Though primarily a hobbyist, I do sell giclee prints as well as some small A2 cards and Postcards. Original digital files are scalable - up to a point. Prints or cards not present in the shop can be set-up, printed and drop-shipped. Any work that returns to paper form (via print or card) is produced locally at Gango Editions, a Portland, Oregon company whose high-quality work and dedication to supporting small local artists remains an inspiration.
